New and Improved: DLT Foundations part 1-3

My posts about DLT foundations have now been updated. There are now 6 parts instead of 5:

• Part 1: Problems with centralized infrastructure

• Part 2: How to reach consensus

• Part 3: DLT components

• Part 4: DeFi = Decentralized Finance

• Part 5: DAO = Decentralized Autonomous Organizations

• Part 6: DApps = Decentralized Apps

Parts 1-3 are updated while 4-6 are about the same. I might go through them later and update them as well.

Part 1 is almost completely rewritten and all the information about consensus algorithms have been moved to a new part 2, What used to be part 2 is now part 3, and part 4 is now part 5, and so forth.

Part 2 has only some minor updates about the consensus algorithms. I removed some details about hashgraphs virtual voting algorithm to make the post shorter. They will be included in a dedicated post about hashgraph instead.

Part 3 has some updated information with a few additional topics, including “Permissioned VS Permissionless Ledgers” and “Zero-Knowledge Proofs”.
