Plans for my Linux tutorial series
Usually when I write technical blogposts, I tend to to more advanced stuff to share experience with others, but I now have this idea for a basic Linux course. There are probably hundreds already that have done the same, so why should anyone care about reading my blogs?
The first reason: I experience that many blogs or guides might not be as detailed, therefore someone that is really new to Linux, but desperately wants to move away from Windows or Mac, might be overwhelmed. I will try to not take anything for granted.
The second reason: I'm documenting my own experience at the same time, because I'm learning as well. I have mostly used Linux on the server-side, but until now, not as much for desktop. I can say now from experience, that installing Linux can be complicated sometimes, and unexpected problems may occur.
I have already made my first post about making a clean install of Ubuntu / Kubuntu, one of the most popular distributions out there. My next post related to Linux will be how to install it as a VM = Virtual Machine. A VM is perfect to learn the basics, until you can let go of Windows or Mac completely.
Other plans are to write about CLI and GUI administration for everyday tasks, recommended software and such things. I will start with that and see how long this goes. Maybe if someone is struggling with a specific thing, I might cover that in a later post.
